Story by Mr. Frank J. Matylinsky

My name is Smokey – I’m a horse. I was arrested for trespassing on BIM Land and for being wild. I went to prison for my crimes and met some nice humans also doing prison time; A lot more time than me. They must have been VERY wild. They taught me the error of my ways, they broke my spirit (but I don’t hold that against them, I was wild after all=, and they trained me to be a good horse. They treated me very well—fed me, tool me to a vet regularly, and according to the human who trained me, the prison spend more money every day on me than on he humans. WOW! After a few weeks, a whole herd of humans came to see me and the other horses inmates. We had finishes all of our classes and lessons. They had us show the herd leaders what we learned and looked us over really well.

Then I got to go home with some very nice people. My human trainer told me I had been paroled. The nice people I got to go home to also have a beagle that got paroles from the prison next door. His story is the same as mine, except he was thrown in prison for chewing on shoes and tipped trashcans; he was really bad! Anyways.. I thought my trainer got paroled too. He went to all of his classes and did really good like me. His spirit was broken and everything, but he said it doesn’t work that way for people, only horses and dogs.

Why? I’m really sad about that, it doesn’t seem fair.
            People are animals too.
