Howdy, Friends:
My full name is Brian Jeffrey Dann, but my friends call me Tripper. And, while the Phoenix Newspaper Headlines read “Son of Judge Arrested in the Triple murder”, the day I was arrested and jailed in “the toughest sheriff in the world’s” Maricopa county Jail, I was no more than a homebuilder and Arizona Cowboy… My Horse was a Harley motorcycle, and my gun was a guitar, making me kind of space-age desperado with a stone-age heart. Just a regular guy.

My grandfather always told us last name meant “and after that”, which aptly describe where my story as an illegally convicted inmate on Death Row stands. I naively sat behind appointed defense counsel at trial until I found myself sentenced to death, and realized I had to stand up. I studied the law and history, doing my best to unveil the foibles of what our government  touts as “The best justice System in the world”. I learned very quickly that any other business run as “effectively” as america’s capital justice system would immediately bankrupt itself. It’s an seriously broken system, perhaps purposely.

I’ve stepped away from the under qualified and poorly paid lawyers to represent myself, and actually garners new process dings. I’m still a renegable and continue to fight to the best of my ability, pushing the unique circumstances of my case through the narrowest parameters of remedy and eventual exoneration.

I love to draw, write, listen to music and sports, read all sorts of books, and daydream about my 45 years of bouncing through the Arizona and west coast wilderness… Fishing, hiking, camping and otherwise raising hell. I don’t subscribe to any particular religion, but I do believe that folks must strive to show each other patience, respect and kindness… and in the toughest or circumstances where it really matters. I fail at this sometimes, as I am a selfish man, who forgets from time to time that there is greater reward in giving to others, but I’ll keep working at it. :-)

Attached is my most prizes possession, a photo of myself and my sister just prior to my arrest. If you have an interest in me, my case, my state or story, I hope you write. I love the distraction, and opportunity to travel out of my lonely cell, if only in my imagination, while meeting new people in the outside world.
