What are you allowed to send your pen pal?
Stamps and
Stationary:
You can send stamps and paper (maximum
40 stamps/write the inmate’s CDC # on the back of the stamps and write the
number of stamps on the envelope and allowed 50 sheets of paper at one kind on
commendation of other type of paper such as: cardstock, drawing, writing ,
typing , printing, etc and any and all colors allowed)
Cards or postcards:
postcards
least to send 10 at one time can be blank.
Cards: greetings cards, missing cards, Thinking of you, love, friendship,
birthday, holidays, get well, blank can be send 10 at one time.
Photos: Only 10 photos in one letter, the pictures are not allowed to be larger than 8x10. NO Polaroid. No nudity.
Letters have to be: WITHOUT stickers, glitter, Lipstick prints.
Printed Pages: 6 printed paper.
Books: Just paperback books and ONLY be
ordered by bookstores like barnesandnobles.com
(our experiences shows that books from amazon.com are not allowed in San
Quentin)
Money: you can send money order or you can
use Jpay.com
If you send money order, write the inmate’s name and CDC # on the money order.
Include a short note stating that you are enclosing a money order and for what
amount. The money order will go to the trust department and the note to the
inmate.
Visiting: We must send a visitation from so the visitor can fill out then mail back in and within 2 to 4 weeks the visitors will be approved or denied but both the visitors and prisoner will be informed in writing.
Packages: Grade B gets them once a year but it’s supposed to be twice a year the prisoner can send you the form and you can order and pay for it on here or you can make a check or money order mail it with the ordering form to the company.
Grade A:
gets them every 3 month.
