Pot luck soup
a little of this and some of that
spice just right
thick at the base
some of this a little of that
to keep the tummy from rumbling
put some meat on the bones.
Over the years, I have been blessed
To have the joy of pot-luck pen friends
good folks
beautiful folks…,
a spoon full of peace
a pinch full of joy
a splash of time
a little trust…
Some folks have come to strengthen
some to give warmth
while others just being
always from the pot-of-love.
If given the chance…, you to should come get some
see if there is something in the pot for you.
FIT TO BE TIED UP
For the first time
in sixteen years of captivity
an entire week has gone by
and I didn’t receive
not a single piece of mail.
Deep laceration to the heart.., I’m taking ‘bout!
Summer is officially here! Oh’ how I use to love summer.
April showers ushered in May flowers
pen friends and family
out and about, having fun in the sun.
Who got time to write a wrongly convicted death row prisoner?
It’s summer time
Italian water ice, ice cream and Philly soft pretzels Baby.
This is what it’s all about..
no time---not even for a line or two…, it’s jazz in the park
not a single thought of my heart that’s full
of hurt and pain--- my blues.
Love? Absent in the palm of my hands at mail call.
But I’ll be okay!
For the rest of the evening…, deep into the night
I’ll write myself
and tomorrow when the mail officer pass me bye
I’ll be just fine! Or will I….,
show string around my neck suicide swinging?
Who SHALL COME! WHO SHALL COME! WHO SHALL COME!
One card..
a moment of joy.
One letter..
a cherished thought.
One photo..
a dream escape from this man-made hell.
To what is a man without joy of his dream
to forever cherish? Nothing.
Who shall come….
